Stroke

While the majority of recovery occurs in the first 3 months following a stroke, recovery can continue to occur forever with continued physical activity. Physical Therapy can help improve endurance, balance, strength and overall functional mobility in order to optimize the quality of life and maximize independence. Physical therapy can also teach you how to safely navigate your home, perform the stairs, perform transfers and modify your home to best suite you in order to help you live your life efficiently and safely. By teaching fall prevention strategies we can help you decrease your chances of ending up in the hospital as the result of a fall.

Vertigo

Positional vertigo is often something that a Physical Therapist can easily fix following an in-depth evaluation to determine the root cause of the vertigo. If it is Benign Paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), it is curable in just a session or two in most cases. BPPV is the result of the crystals in your inner ear getting dislodged and entering the semicircular canals. Symptoms include dizziness related to positional changes such as rolling or sitting up. Often sever and may include nausea and vomiting.
